Library

Our Library Experience

LCA’s library is an escape into a room full of mystery, fantasy, adventure, comedy, sports, nature, science and so much more…. all conveniently compacted into the pages of over 12,000 books.

All students visit our library for one-half hour every week. Students search for books at the beginning of class. Then, our librarians use stories to take our students into readings they probably would never select for themselves. Our readings generally focus on our virtue of the month and use great stories to make the point. Stories come from all cultures and times in history using both fiction and nonfiction to show the impact of virtue in our lives.

Then, time permitting, at the end of the library the students practice manners exercises and social skills such as introductions, condolences, congratulations, and numerous other little skills like respectfully interrupting, excusing oneself from a conversation, giving and accepting compliments, and the other little gestures that make life better.
